As globalization gathers pace, various regions in the world today are faced with the challenge of responding to an unprecedented rate of change and transformation. The series has been renamed Ishak Shari Memorial Lecture "Asia in the 21st Century" to honour the work of the late IKMAS' Director, Professor Dr. Ishak Shari, who passed away on 30 June 2001. The lectures are delivered by eminent public intellectuals and scholars from and on Asia.
